Brian McCarthy
Vice President of Payer Strategy

Brian joins Advantage Point Solutions as Vice President of Payer Strategy, bringing more than 15 years of experience in market access, pharmaceutical contracting, rebate optimization, and formulary strategy. He is recognized for translating complex financial, market, and clinical data into actionable insights that inform decision-making across Commercial, Medicare Part D, and Managed Medicaid populations. Brian has a proven track record of leading complex negotiations and influencing enterprise-level strategy.
Prior to joining APS, Brian led and developed a team responsible for over 50% of manufacturer contracting relationships at Express Scripts, managing 150+ pharmaceutical partners across specialty and branded portfolios. In this role, he drove contracting strategies that maximized rebate value, profitability, and formulary competitiveness, while maintaining close alignment with clinical and formulary decision-making teams. He also oversaw relationships with three of the organization’s largest health plan/PBM clients, supporting more than 140 million covered lives, and led high-impact rebate and value-based negotiations. Brian partnered cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, Legal, and Finance teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management.
